Horizontal Digital rebrand
As Horizontal Digital grew, the design system struggled to maintain consistency across print and digital platforms. Dull colors and unclear guidelines led to inefficiencies, signaling the need for a flexible, digital-first refresh that positioned HZTL ahead of the competition.
Solution
It started with creating a foundation rooted in HZTL’s bread and butter: digital. A repeatable grid was established, graphic elements that represent the iterative digital product process were given roles and rules. Supplemental visual elements were introduced to provide flexibility, and patterns and colors were revamped to stand out.

A digital-first grid system creates balance, consistency, as-well-as flexible variety. It formed the foundation for everything from type sizes, line-height, and layout balance.
